Philip was born into his life path of what I feel, was chosen for him to bare. His mother even questioned him as a teen, as to why does he waste his gift. It wasn't until he meet his wife, that karma showed itself to Philip and so began his journey. Interestingly enough, their first child was named the same as my older sibling, Nadine. A name that at those time wasn't used as often. Later training at college to be a Welfare Officer, studying subjects such as sociology, social work practice, psychology, etc., all at honors degree level, Philip began expanding his soul. Thus leading into seeking more about arts such as astrology, tarot, and anything to do with psychic, spiritual and, in particular, mediumship development. Philip didn't care what others may or may not have thought, as he felt it was his calling and his life path. Not everyone is lucky enough to achieve such an honor from a higher source. After awhile of a blissful marriage, Philip and his wife Kathy, were on their way. Dreams and messages began, trying to help Philip and his current money affairs, as he and his wife were worried. A son came after Nadine and so, Philip's life kept moving in the proper direction. Including the passing of his dearest friend and parent, he knew his mother would pass and was able to seek solace and comfort through his own gift of mediumship and healing. Again, a special gift not everyone receives in this life, and he knew it. Receiving recognition, did radio and television spots, finding he enjoyed broadcasting. One of the presenters of BBC Radio at the Pebble Mill studios, Birmingham, was Jenny Wilkes. Liking Philip's work, especially the astrology, had asked if he would like to give the astrology spot a try for a couple of weeks starting with a three minute slot. Proving popular, Philip stayed with the BBC for three years doing a half-hour spot every Sunday afternoon, and still returns regularly as a feature guest as a medium, psychic, and advisor on just about anything to do with the paranormal. Having his hands in writing articles for newspapers and magazines, came into his own and was well respected in the field of the paranormal. In Guided By The Light, Philip brings the reader to a higher level of understanding about life. Karma playing a huge role in how we go about our day to day routines. He openly admits that some may find him and others talking this way looney, but he is here to continue his work explaining why and how. Citing examples throughout his life with rich, fulfilling, tear moving stories, enhances the readers perception and awareness of why we are brought into this world and why we leave. Philips' life has been filled with sight, impressions, predictions and the ability to delve deep into another's soul whether it be in person, or by phone. It doesn't matter how, when you connect to a person such as Philip, he will see and let you know whether you want to hear it or not. Often times, many are wrapped up in the appearance of things and so here is where Philip differs then most mediums around today. He is what he is, true, honest and glad to help you any way he can. This book will have you understanding better and perhaps leaving you with many thoughts, that weren't able to come through beforehand.
At the end of this incredible story, he explains that even as a baby, he was pushed into rock'n'roll by his mother, where his father was a dance hall promoter, meeting all the people involved in that business. Later on in his life, he would work at the BBC as their psychic, medium and astrologer, meaning this meant he would meet celebrities almost every week. Was he willed to follow suit as those before him? Many celebrities booked him for private sittings or just became friends over the years. With these connections, Philip explains that perhaps it's not so strange that he is one of the main mediums, that celebrities chose to make contact with. He was born into a life path and one large puzzle with scattered pieces about. Each of us trying to place more and more correct pieces together as we mature, in hopes to finally finish the puzzle and understand our purpose and meaning on earth biding our time respectfully. Yes, he mentions the likes of the famous Marilyn Monroe as my father did as well before him and many others. What individuals need to comprehend is that what we are on earth, will not transfer over the same to the other side. Famous here, is not famous over there. There is no need for it as what good would it do? Marilyn was a person and a soul. When she passed, she become a being of light and so those such as Philip, could communicate with her as I believe, she and others, chose him. It was with the greatest of pleasure that I accepted Philip Solomon’s invitation to add my “bit” in the form of a foreword to his latest book “Guided by the Light: The Autobiography of a Born Medium”.
I often look back with pleasure to the time when I first met Philip Solomon. Being called a 'miracle child', it's no wonder that Philip Solomon was presumed to be born with a gift and the self belief of being guided by the light, which has resulted in a successful and supported life time pursuit in the world of spiritualism. And indeed, his life as a whole.
As I started to read Philip's autobiography, I could not help thinking if it is one's imagination that became a belief of something different, which is hard for others to believe due to purposeful ignorance and a dismissive attitude towards a born medium with guides from the 'other side'. I must admit, I fall into the later category. However, after the introduction, I kept an open mind and had to read on to accept that Philip is no ordinary being, especially after fifty-six years of experience, which is catalogued in a book of fascinating revelations.
Having started to write late on in life I wonder where it came from. Did it come from a vision I was not aware of? I know, in reality, what started my writing but reading this book made me think why one should suddenly do something out of the ordinary of one's life.
After this brief thought and reading further into the book, I have to be honest and say that there are, for me, passages that stretched belief and imagination but made for good reading.
I am obviously showing, and apologise for, my ignorance towards a subject I find hard to accept. However, I have no doubt there are millions out there before, during and after who are spiritual and in ore of Philips extraordinary life that will enjoy his autobiography. For those who are not sure either way about born mediums then this book may help you decide.

What a wonderful book Philip Solomon has written! For those unfamiliar with the spiritual world of mediums, or for those who believe but don't understand, and also for those who believe, understand and just want more education in that subject, this explains so much. Solomon explains his feelings at an early age when he realized he was special and how he put those special powers to good use. He was blessed to have parents who also were specially blessed and understood his gift. His life story is interesting as we explore his spirit guides and the part they play as his gift develops. How blessed he was to find a wife who understands and is a true helpmate to him. I especially enjoyed the ley lines theory and believe they do exist throughout the world. I have taken to heart the author's advice on slowing down, absorbing what you are experiencing and treasuring each day, and all dimensions of reality. This would make an excellent movie and I hope someone has the foresight to do just that. I look forward to one day meeting the author, in the meantime I highly recommend this book!

WOLVERHAMPTON'S famous medium Philip Solomon is appearing at the Village Hotel in March to raise funds for the Leukemia Unit at Russells Hall Hospital and also promote his new book, Guided By The Light, published by Apex Publishing.
The mystical evening is the brainchild of instructor Tina Hellings who is aiming to make £10,000 for the charity.
Tina runs the social enterprise `making people happy` and works for Age Concern Well being and Activity Centre in Merry Hill.

MEDIUM RARE!
Convincing ... psychic Philip Solomon.
PHILIP Solomon is a man who could justifiably call himself a celebrity medium, but to my knowledge he never has.
When I interviewed him for WraithScape, I found him to be rather self-effacing. He pauses thoughtfully before giving answers, and only seems to want to say good things about others. It's hard not to like Philip Solomon.
Solomon has been described as "one of the finest spiritualist mediums in the world", and has given consultations to many household names over the years.
"My writing and broadcasting keeps me really busy, too", he told me. "I feel very privileged to be able to work as I do".
Again, Philip paused before adding: "I've met some wonderful, spiritual people … I've been blessed".
Like all good mediums, Philip has come in for some criticism from rabid sceptics.
He seems to just take it all in his stride.

He has a good sense of humour, and even when recalling psychic incidents from his childhood, which obviously moved him deeply, he finds himself able to interject a dose of wry humour.
But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so they say.
Philip Solomon can certainly talk the talk, but can he walk the walk? I was about to find out.
I happened to mention to Philip that I had been suffering from an ailment that was starting to wear me down and I was getting pretty fed up with it.
"Would you like me to help with that?"
Never one to look a gift-horse in the mouth, I accepted his offer in a New York minute – even though I wasn't sure exactly what he had in mind.
It also crossed my mind that there couldn't be a better way of assessing someone's abilities than by personal experience.
"When we've finished the conversation, I want you to sit in a quiet place and meditate for a few minutes. Let's see what happens".
Well, the conversation ended and I did as Philip asked. I sat quietly, meditating for about 10 minutes, and the results were as startling as they were instantaneous.

A strange question, you'd have to agree, but a telling one. "Why do you ask?"
"I don't know … I just get the feeling that you've been talking to someone with an incredible psychic aura."
Well, that did it. Philip Solomon? Approved!

Philip Solomon is not the most famous spiritualist medium in the country, although he’s not that far down the pecking order. However, he has been labelled, perhaps correctly, as the greatest medium of our time. Solomon is a man who could justifiably call himself a celebrity medium, but to my knowledge he never has. As if all of this wasn’t enough, there’s also a chapter on Solomon’s exploits as a ghost-hunter.
One is left with the feeling that with Philip Solomon what you see is exactly what you get. To date I haven’t read a book in this field that is as unconventional as Guided by the Light, or one that offers such an extraordinary insight into the world of one of Britain’s best-loved spiritualist mediums. If you fancy broadening your horizons, then purchase this intriguing volume and let Philip Solomon do the rest. You won’t be disappointed.
