-- Reviews by the Famous and well Known
I look back with tremendous fondness with my time at the football club. Having played under managers Alan Buckley and Tommy Coakley. Mainly, we were a good footballing side who played entertaining football.
This book will bring back many memories for all Saddles fans and test their knowledge to the full.
Craig Shakespeare, Walsall Football Club (1981-1989)

My career didn’t really start until I joined Walsall FC. A fantastic club both on and off the field with the foundations in place for bigger and better things.
I had many good times with promotions, personal recognition and success. Of course there was a flipside to that but the good outweighed the indifferent.
I was fortunate enough to work with some fantastic players and managers all of who gained great experience from.
So if you think you’re a real Walsall FC fan and you think you know all there is to know about the club and players, think again!

This could be the most enjoyable way to learn about your club!
Colin Harrison, Walsall Football Club (1964-1982)

I was surprised to be asked to write the foreword for this book but nevertheless very honoured to do so.
Ron Jukes signed me up in 1961 as an apprentice, Bill Moore being the manager having just achieved promotion to Division Two. My playing career spanned sixteen years playing over 490 games and working under eleven managers.
I was fortunate to play with a lot of good players such as Allan Clarke, Mark Wallington, Phil Parkes and Mick Kearns all who went on to represent their Countries at various levels.
Highlights of my career were the FA Cup clashes with Manchester United, Newcastle, Liverpool and Birmingham City.
It would be impossible to mention everyone I met or played with but I would pick out a few players Colin Taylor who was my roommate on away trips, Colin Harrison, Stan Bennett and Allan Clarke.
I do hope that you all enjoy this quiz book and I wish The Saddlers and their supporters all the best for the future.
Nick Atthey, Walsall Football Club (1963-1977)

Walsall Football Club is an integral part of the West Midlands football family, with a passionate and loyal fan base while they also seem to be everybody’s second team. This book is a riveting collection of Saddlers trivia that will enthral their fans young and old. Without doubt it will be as essential to Saddlers fans as a red and white scarf or bobble hat.
