About the Author: Alex McGarrity: Alex was born in Bellshill, Scotland, in 1981. His love of reading and writing originated in childhood, fuelled by frequent trips to the library with his mother. Alex grew up in a large, happy family, with three brothers and three sisters, which helped to develop his vivid imagination.
Alex has always enjoyed writing and has experimented with different forms, including novels, short stories and songs as well as children’s stories. His favourite part of writing is inventing new characters.
Alongside literature and music, Alex’s main passion is fatherhood and he has a little boy, Liam. Alex has a BSc degree in sports coaching and a keen interest in politics and world events. He also plays guitar in a band. Alex now lives in Cumbernauld.
Caterina Bassano: Caterina was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1985. Her passion for drawing and illustrating characters started at an early age, inspired by her love of children's books, cartoons, and animated films.
At the age of 25, Caterina moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where she began to work at building up her artistic portfolio. Caterina is a self-taught illustrator who draws on both traditional and digital techniques. She is also a successful artist who has sold several of her paintings in recent years.
Caterina works in marketing and has a degree in Media and Communications. She devotes the rest of her time to her artistic work and says that she likes to keep herself ‘creatively active’. Caterina’s hobbies include writing and photography.
